Each pie is baked by a chef at one of Toronto's best restaurants and hotels. A $35 pie provides ten meals to a person living with HIV/AIDS, whose long term survival depends on proper nutrition. Last year we provided over 30,000 meals. This exciting event and urgent cause have attracted chefs from such celebrated restaurants as Daniel et Daniel and Canoe . How it Works To purchase an apple or pumpkin pie click on the 'Buy a Pie' link. Your pie will be ready for pick up the Friday before Thanksgiving, October 9th. You will be able to choose a pie pick up location that is convenient for you. For a list of pick up locations please click here. At any given time, hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS in Toronto do not receive the nutrition their bodies need. HIV/AIDS can deplete a person's financial, emotional and physical resources making it difficult to perform necessary, daily functions like cooking and eating. The virus itself impacts the body's ability to properly absorb and utilize nutrition. Good nutrition facilitates healing and recovery, replenishes the body with important nutrients and helps maximize the benefits of medical treatment.
